I was in an accident. What do I need to do now?
Being in an accident can be stressful and overwhelming. We do our best to make your repair process an easy, positive experience. You will need to call your insurance provider to report the accident, and they will provide you with a claim number. Once you have the claim number, you can stop by the shop with your vehicle (if it is safe to drive) or call to schedule a damage assessment. Please bring in a copy of your claim number and your insurance papers. Our Estimator will assess the damage to your vehicle, and take photos to submit to your insurance company. Once this is done, we will book your repair appointment.
What do I need to bring in for my damage assessment/appointment?
Insurance Related: Please bring in a copy of your insurance papers, as well as your claim number from your insurance company. Our Estimator will complete a damage assessment on your vehicle with you present, as well as take photos to submit to your insurance company. Then, we will book you an appointment for repairs.
Non-Insurance Related: We are happy to do auto body work that is not related to insurance claims. Please bring in a copy of your insurance papers, as they provide VIN numbers for ordering parts, as well as coverage information in case you need a courtesy vehicle.
How long will my repairs take?
After completing a damage assessment, your Estimator will book you an appointment and give you an estimate of how long your repairs will take.
Do you have courtesy cars?
Yes, we have a fleet of courtesy cars available.
Is there any warranty on my repairs?
Yes! As CSN No.1 Autobody, we proudly stand behind the quality of our work. As part of the Collision Solutions Network (CSN) we are proud to offer a Lifetime Warranty on all insurance claim repairs completed. This warranty is valid for as long as you own the vehicle, and warranty work can be completed at any CSN shop nation-wide. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the repairs of your vehicle, contact us and we will make it right.
My vehicle is unsafe to drive after an accident. Now what happens?
If your vehicle is unsafe to drive following a collision, it will be towed to the tow yard. Once you report your accident to ICBC and choose your repair shop, it will then be towed there.
I have a few other dents and dings. Can I get them repaired even though they aren't part of my claim?
Absolutely! CSN No.1 Autobody is proud to offer Unrelated Damage Repair. Whether a scratch or ding was a part of an accident or not- we’ll fix it.
My insurance provider told me to take my vehicle to a specific shop. Do I have to follow their recommendations?
No. Insurance companies cannot dictate which facility you take your vehicle to. CSN No.1 Autobody maintains excellent relationships with a number of insurance companies, and we are happy to work with your insurance company during the repair process.
Can I wash my car after it's been repaired?
Because new paint needs time to dry and harden, it's important to take extra care washing it after your repairs. You should only wash
by hand, with a soft sponge or cloth for a minimum of 30 days, preferably for 3 months. You should use clean, cool water, wash in the shade. You should park your vehicle in the shade to dry afterwards if possible.
You should wait at least 3 months before waxing or polishing your vehicle. Doing this gives it time to cure, and waxing or polishing beforehand can damage the finish or discolour the paint.
