Insurance Claims Process
Bring in your vehicle. We'll handle the rest.
CSN No. 1 Autobody is an ICBC Accredited and Preferred Valet Shop, as well as an ICBC Glass Express Shop. We provide estimates and auto body repairs for all insurance claims, including out-of-province claims. We are happy to provide services for personal repairs that do not have insurance claims as well. Visit our Collision Repair Centre on Vancouver Island, BC to start your process today!
Step 1: Reporting your Claim If you've been in an accident or collision, you must report it to your insurance provider. If ICBC is your only insurance provider, you can call their Dial-A-Claim line, which is open 24/7.
Once you report your incident, your insurance provider will give you a claim number. Claim numbers are needed before receiving an estimate of repairs and having repairs take place. Once you have your claim number, you can call it into our shop ahead of your estimate, or simply stop by with your claim number, insurance papers and vehicle to receive your free estimate. |
Step 2: Receive Repair EstimateWith your claim number you can now receive your repair estimate.
Here we will do a thorough inspection where every scratch, ding and dent is recorded. With this, we will provide you a complimentary estimate where any accident-related damages are kept separate from non-accident related damages. We will discuss the estimate and repair process with you step-by-step, take photos of the damage, and work with your insurance companies to obtain necessary approvals before we begin work. We will then give you an estimate of time needed to complete the repairs, as well as have your appointment booked. While you are waiting for your appointment, we will have parts ordered in so they are ready to go when your vehicle arrives for your appointment. |
Step 3: Vehicle Drop-Off When your appointment day arrives, we are happy to give you a ride somewhere if needed. If you have booked a courtesy car with us, the car will be ready for you. Courtesy cars are provided with a full tank of gas. Each customer is to fill when they are coming to return the courtesy car and pick up their vehicle.

Step 4: Repair, Paint & PolishAfter your vehicle is evaluated and we have obtained the necessary insurance approvals, we will begin the repair process on your vehicle to bring it to it's pre-accident condition.
Once your vehicle arrives, we will disassemble it and then reevaluate it. If there was more damage than noted from the estimate, a supplement report with any extra work or parts needed will be written and submitted to your insurance provider for approval. We will update you with these changes, as well as a new scheduled completion date. |
Step 4: Pick Up Your Like-New VehicleOnce we’ve completed the repairs for your vehicle, our team will contact you and invite you in for the final inspection and paperwork. If you need a ride to the shop, we are more than happy to pick you up.
Your estimator will review the vehicle and repairs before completing the documentation with you, and handing over the keys. At this time, your estimator will walk you through our written lifetime warranty on your insurance repairs, so you can leave with peace of mind that your repairs were completed to the highest level of quality. If you have had a courtesy car, please fill the vehicle up with fuel on your way in. |
